Lilly & Will’s Haig Point Wedding on Daufuskie Island

There are some couples who make you feel like you’ve known them forever, and Lilly and Will are exactly that kind of couple.
I had already had the chance to photograph Lilly and Will for their Haig Point engagement session the year before their wedding, so getting to come back to Daufuskie Island for their wedding day felt especially meaningful. They are one of those couples who are just genuinely fun to be around. Their love for one another is so obvious, but what stood out just as much was how much they are loved by everyone around them.

And then they got the most incredible June wedding day.

The weather could not have been more perfect. With their closest friends and family gathered on the island, Lilly and Will exchanged vows at the lighthouse surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. There was something incredibly special about having everyone together in one place, away from the pace of everyday life, to celebrate these two.

Sarah Turpin was the wedding coordinator, and she pulled off a completely seamless day. Every detail came together beautifully, but more importantly, the day never felt rushed or overly complicated. It simply felt like everyone was there to celebrate Lilly and Will.

After the ceremony, we all hopped into golf carts and made our way over to the clubhouse for dinner and dancing. The ballroom was beautifully set for the evening, and the energy shifted completely into celebration mode.

And what a celebration it was.

You could tell from the very beginning of the day just how adored these two are. Their friends and family were completely invested in celebrating them, and once the dancing started, everyone was ready to have a good time. There was so much laughter, so much joy, and so much genuine love packed into one room.

Haig Point continues to be one of my absolute favorite places to photograph weddings. There is something about Daufuskie Island that makes a wedding feel a little more intimate and a little more memorable. The beautiful surroundings, the golf carts, the lighthouse, the live oaks, the feeling of everyone being together on the island for the weekend… it all creates something really special.

For Lilly and Will, it was the perfect setting for the perfect day.

I’m so grateful I got to be there to document it all, from their engagement session the year before to their wedding day surrounded by the people they love most. These are the kinds of weddings that remind me exactly why I love what I do.
