Wedding | Brooke + Trystan

Featured on Magnolia Rouge

Some wedding days are beautiful. And then there are wedding days like Brooke and Trystan’s.
This past summer, I boarded the ferry to Daufuskie Island, camera bags in hand, headed to one of the most breathtaking celebrations I have ever had the honor of photographing. Since the island is only accessible by boat, the entire experience already feels like stepping into something intimate and unforgettable. There is something so special about knowing that everyone who is there made the journey intentionally. It sets the tone for a day centered around connection.

From the moment I arrived at Haig Point, it was clear this would be extraordinary. Brooke and Trystan were calm, joyful, and completely present. They spent the morning surrounded by their closest friends and family who had traveled in to celebrate them, filling the house with laughter and anticipation.

The weather could not have been more perfect. Clear blue skies stretched endlessly overhead, and the summer sun lit everything in the most magical way. Their ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking the water, with a gentle coastal breeze moving through as they exchanged vows. It was heartfelt, emotional, and full of so much love.

Cocktail hour was held on the neighboring lawn near the historic tabby ruins, one of the most iconic backdrops on the island. Guests mingled, embraced, and soaked in the golden light while the celebration seamlessly transitioned into the evening.

And then there was Knox.

Their sweet golden retriever was part of the festivities, and having him there made the day feel even more personal. The way Brooke and Trystan looked at him, and at each other, said everything you need to know about the kind of life they are building together.

As the sun dipped lower, everyone gathered under a stunning tent for the reception. The atmosphere was electric. Heartfelt toasts, a packed dance floor, and the kind of celebration where no one wants the night to end. It was joyful, effortless, and completely true to who Brooke and Trystan are.

Photographing weddings like this is why I love what I do. A destination that feels tucked away from the world. A couple who is deeply in love. Family and friends who show up fully. And a summer day that felt almost too beautiful to be real.

Brooke and Trystan, thank you for inviting me onto that ferry and into such an unforgettable chapter of your story. What a privilege it was to document every moment.
