Proposal | Megan + Prescott
Some moments are extra special when you have been quietly planning them for months and this one was exactly that. Prescott and I had been working behind the scenes for quite some time to pull off the perfect surprise proposal for Megan and every detail was so thoughtfully planned. Knowing this sweet couple for years made it even more meaningful to be trusted with such a huge moment in their story.
The plan was simple but so intentional. Prescott would take Megan out on his boat in the Port Royal Sound and propose on the water. What she did not know was that friends and family were already preparing a surprise celebration back at the Butler residence waiting for them to return. From start to finish it was filled with excitement and just the right amount of nerves.
To keep the surprise intact I photographed the proposal from a separate boat that we quietly snuck out onto the river. From a distance I watched it all unfold as Prescott popped the question and Megan said yes. Once the moment had settled I climbed onto their boat and captured a few sweet just engaged photos as they soaked it all in together out on the water.
The final surprise came when we headed back to the dock. As they pulled in Megan realized that everyone they love was standing there waiting to celebrate them. The reactions the hugs and the pure joy made it such an unforgettable ending to the day. These are the moments that remind me why I love documenting life as it happens.
I cannot wait to continue celebrating these two this summer and see what the next chapter holds for them. Congratulations Megan and Prescott. What a beautiful beginning.
