Wedding | Austen + Chandler

Some wedding days stay with you long after the final gallery is delivered – Austen and Chandler’s March 2025 wedding in downtown Beaufort was one of those days.

The morning began in the heart of The Point, inside Austen’s parents’ home. Historic, sprawling, and surrounded by towering oak trees, the house felt like a quiet retreat tucked into the center of town. Wraparound porches framed the home, light poured through every window, and the space carried a sense of history and warmth that set the tone for the entire day. It was one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever had the privilege of spending time in, and it created the perfect backdrop for a slow, meaningful start.

Austen and Chandler shared their first look at the house, grounding themselves together before the day unfolded. From there, instead of hopping into cars, we took our time and walked down the charming street just beyond the house — the kind of street that makes downtown Beaufort so special. A short stroll brought us to an open square where we captured group photos, bridal party portraits, and romantic moments with just the two of them. Everything felt easy, unhurried, and natural.

The ceremony took place at a quaint local church, filled with character and quiet beauty. As Austen walked down the aisle, the room felt still in that unmistakable way it does during truly heartfelt moments. They exchanged vows and promised their lives to one another in a ceremony that was intimate, emotional, and deeply personal.

Following the ceremony, we made our way to Dataw Island for the reception. Cocktail hour unfolded in a beautifully lit space filled with lush florals and warm candlelight, creating an atmosphere that felt both elevated and inviting. During this time, I stole Austen and Chandler away for a few moments by the water – just the two of them, soaking in everything they had just experienced. Those portraits felt calm, joyful, and full of that just-married glow.

As the evening continued, guests moved inside where a live band kicked off the celebration. The dance floor stayed full, laughter echoed through the room, and Austen and Chandler truly danced the night away. The evening ended with a magical sparkler exit – a perfect sendoff to a day that felt intentional, timeless, and full of love from start to finish.

Austen and Chandler’s wedding was a beautiful reflection of who they are: elegant without being overdone, deeply meaningful, and full of warmth. From the historic home in The Point to the candlelit celebration on Dataw Island, every part of the day felt thoughtfully chosen and effortlessly unforgettable.
